Call for Papers: Southeast Early China Roundtable

We are pleased to announce that Florida International University, Miami, and the Elling Eide Center, Sarasota, Florida will jointly host the 21st annual Southeast Early China Roundtable (SEECR), October 27-29, 2017

 

The Keynote address will be deliverd by Dr. Nancy Stienhardt at 5:30pm on October 27 at the Elling Eide Library. Dr. Stienhardt's address is entitled, "The Borders of Chinese Architecture."

 

 

The first day of the conference, Saturday (October 28), will take place at the Elling Eide Center, and the second day presentations (October 29) will be at the Ringling Museum of Art, followed by lunch and a private museum visit.

 

We welcome proposals for presentations focusing on early and medieval China from a variety of disciplinary perspectives, including anthropology, archaeology, art history, history, literature, philosophy, and religious studies. Please send a short abstract (250 words) of your proposal and full institutional contact information to joy4yi@gmail.com by Aug. 5. Early submissions are welcome. Lodging and meals will be provided for presenters, as well as a limited number of observers.
